Considering getting a trail-running shoe? Lets go over several details about what to look for. This review is centered around the Italian based sporting brand, LaSportiva. Lets go through the model called the Bushido. We will concentrate on the Out-sole, mid-sole, upper, and cushioning system of the shoe.
Out-sole: this model offers a dual density friction rubber. This means the outside of the out-sole will offer a harder rubber for rough terrain and stabilization. So, the middle part of the out-sole will be softer and extra grippy. LaSportiva is renowned for their mountain climbing shoes. They offer the best rubber compounds for mountain climbers and boulders. This model is no different, it grips the trails well and offers control through each stride.
Cushioning: their is a 80% E.V.A. cushion and 20% compound rubber utilized in their mid-sole. This combination is offered to grant the runner good cushion but more importantly, durability for those aggressive terrains.
Mid-sole: lugs on bottom portion of the shoe wrap around towards the upper for increased stability and amplified structure.
Rock plate: Yes there is a rock plate made out of a compressed E.V.A. Not to firm, not to soft. The Bushido also offers LaSportiva’s Impact Brake System. This function is designed to provide thicker front lugs of tread. Utilized to stop and pivot for quick turns or for maneuvering through tricky obstacles.
Upper: a S.T.B. control system included throughout the upper for a sock like feel. The tongue is attached to the upper for a snug fit. A T.P.U. compound wraps from instep to back heel counter. This makes the shoe extra narrow for increased control and support.
Overall: LaSportiva’s Bushido receives a rating of 9/10. It is super lightweight without sacrificing support or cushion. It has a nice arch and snug and secure fit. The Bushido is not recommended for someone with a wider foot. However for anyone with a narrow to standard width and instep; this model will work great. Come in and try a pair on! Thanks for reading.
